You are all doing so well in your reading on Epic...2385 books so far, can we make it to 2500 by the end of term?
White Rose Maths is great, BUT you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page to start, NOT start at the top.
Because we didn't start using it for a few weeks, we are on Summer term week 1, but don't worry if you are a bit behind, just work through them as much as you can and try your very hardest to catch up.
1. Make sure you watch the video first and pause it at the right times.
2. Complete the questions on 'Get the Activity' as and when the video says.
3. Check the answers.
Week 5 - w/c 4th May
Last week we had some mixed results, about two thirds of you handed in the literacy work, which was great, but sadly, only 10 handed in the Rosie Revere project work for us to look at on Google classroom. Don't forget, this is carefully designed as part of your learning and should not be seen as optional. I need to see an improvement in handing in assignments. If you can comment on the stream then you can hand in your work.
Well done to the people who did hand in all their work, I really enjoyed the following peoples work for going the extra mile either by videoing or doing more than one project/design.

Week 3
Hi Everyone
I hope you all had a good Easter!
It is really important that this week all the children are able to get onto Google Classroom and the Epic books website. I will be emailing Epic books log-ins as soon as possible, as I understand that some people are having problems logging on. Please ring the office or email the office if you have any problems. Some children are becoming super independent at contacting me on the live stream in google classroom. I will try to answer as soon as possible, but am just getting my head around it too!
Mega shout out to George, Dylan, Rebecca, Iris, Tyler, Faith, Finn, and Freddie for doing soooo much reading on Epic in the Easter Holidays.
Big encouragement to Finn, Freddie and Willow for taking an AR quiz in the holidays too.
Please email me some photos or messages via the office, to let me know if you have enjoyed Cosmic Yoga this week!!!

Hi Ashies, I have found a website called Epic which has an online free access to books, some of which are on the Accelerated Reader Quiz. There are also some audio books and books that will read along to you. I have set up our class names and we can use it for free until 30th June 2020. It is an American website so some of the books are called different titles on the AR quiz finder (so it is good to search by author). See below for log on details for both Android, IOS and Laptops. If you use the code to log in, you should see Ash class and then I can see how much reading you are doing . Bear with me if it doesn't work straight away, I am trying to be more 'techy' but am learning too!
For laptops:
Go to www.getepic.com/students
Log in with your class code
lrp1884
Select your name and you're in!
For devices
After launching the Epic app,
Select “Have an account? Log In” then click “Students & Educators”
Log in with your class code

Hope that the first day of home learning went well, please do email the office, if you are having problems accessing any of the activities.
Before the school shut on Thursday and Friday, we were talking about how nice it would be if you guys recommended books to your friends and left the books on each others doorsteps with notes to each other. It is thought by some, that the Covid 19 virus could be passed on to materials such as cardboard and plastic, so always speak to the adults in your home before opening any parcels and sharing books from other families. as well as rememering to wash your hands!
To support you during this period, Twinkl is offering every teacher in England access to all Twinkl resources with a One Month Ultimate Membership, totally free of charge. We’re also extending this to every parent and carer in your school so your pupils can still have access to high-quality learning during any periods of disruption.
Setting this up is really easy to do - go to www.twinkl.co.uk/offer and enter the code UKTWINKLHELPS
Hello lovely people...
Here is the planning for the week ahead.
I have really tried to include a variety of tasks and approaches. Hopefully, the web links work if you click on them in the planning. I will post the answers to the literacy CGP books for the children to mark their work as they would do in class. Please try to work together to help your child trouble shoot where they may have made mistakes. I have tried to make the video clips fun and not too long so they can share the computer with siblings. There should not be too much printing involved. Please don't feel that the children must do the messy experiments, but I think they would really enjoy it and perhaps you could talk through the questions on the Science Bob PDF's. I have done the experiments and they do work, showing how gases are created. Have fun and good luck.

Dear parents/carers,
I have put together a pack that has come home tonight, in the event of school closure due to Covid 19. If you have to self-isolate, but the school remains open, I will be teaching from this pack as well in the same order as on the website. We looked at how to access the class pages today as a class and I have explained to the children that I will post on the website Ash class page, what pages and activities the children will be doing each day, they must not just choose what they want to do, otherwise it will be very difficult to plan follow up work. We will try as much as possible to stick to the normal expectations of work in the school day and subjects covered in the timetable. The CGP books have short explanations and a glossary, and information already included in the planner, the children need to refer to these when they become stuck. The answers are in the back of the book for Maths, I have explained that this is to help with marking and the importance of having a go before they ask for help. There are many video clips on the internet of all of the subjects and concepts I will endeavour to post links when these are helpful.
Obviously there is TT rock stars and the Olympic challenge to practice tables, the KIRFs in the planner to practice as well as lots and lots of reading to do. The children know lots of maths games to play with dice, playing cards and dominoes that we spend a lot of time doing daily to maintain their instant recall of mental maths facts that are outlined in the KIRFs in the planner.
Regards
Liz Meeten
For those families who are self-isolating, use your time to:
*Do lots of reading
*Practise the KIRF's in your planner
*Use some online maths games and apps (e.g. Top Marks)
*Spend some time being creative e.g. drawing, painting, building with Lego, crafting, baking, dancing, acting out a play
*Do some creative writing e.g. stories, instructions, arguments, non-chronological reports
*Enjoy spending extra time with your family!
In the event of a school closure, we will be uploading weekly structured activities for you to do at home.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
